meet with AIT Chairman of Thailand |

Thai delegation led by Professor Said Irandoust
of the Asian Institute of Technology met with Vice-Presidents
of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry U Win Aung,
U Zaw Min Win and U Aung Lwin at the UMFCCI Office
Tower on 10 February 2007.Prof.Said Irandoust explained
on activitiesof vocationa training,degrees conferred
by the Institute and Scholarship Programme. They
discussed matters on providing vocational training,
conducting training on wood-based technology and
participating AIT experts in Fruit and Vegetables
Fairs to be held in Myanmar during 26 April to 1
May 2007. Joint Secretary 1 Dr.Maung Maung Lay,
CEC member U Tun Aung, EC member U Hla Maung Shwe
and Dr.Pwint San of Myanmar Industrial Association
were also present at the meeting. |

Win Hlaing, Joint Secretaries Dr. Maung Maung Lay
and U Tun Aung received a 10 member Japanese delegation
from Kanagawa Industrial Association led by Mr.
SAEGUSA Taksi, President, Toho Seisakusyo Co., Ltd.
at the Federation Office on 13 February 2007. They
discussed matters related to the investment opportunities
in industrial sector, cooperation between SMEs in
both countries and private sector cooperation. |

attended the Meeting of the Working Groups and the
Coordination Committee on Promoting the Participation

held in Kunming, People's Republic of China from
29 January to 2 February 2007. |

Bangladesh delegaion led by Maj-Gen A.N.M Muniruzzaman,
Director General of the Institute of International and
Strategic Studies of Bangladesh accompanied by Comercial
Attache of Bangladesh Embassy in Myanmar Mr.Md Aftabuzzaman
and Military Attache Brig-Gan Shawkat Jamal met with Vice-President
U Aung Lwin, General Secretary U Sein Win Hlaing, Joint
Secetary 2 U Tun Aung and CEC member at the Federation
Office on 8 February 2007. At the meeting two parties
discussed on promotion of bilateral trade between the
two countries, investment opportunities, border trade
and transit trade, banking system, celebration of Trade
Fairs, Business Matching and exchange of trade information. |

the same day First Secretary of the Embassy of Russian
Federation, Mr. Nikolay A.Barabanov and Mr. Yurchenko
Vitaly, Director of TVA International Ltd. met with General
Secretary of UMFCCI U Sein Win Hlaing and Party. They
exchanged views on investment opportunities in energy,
mineral and industrial sectors, holding Myanmar Gems and
Jewellery Fair in Russia Federation and cooperation in
infrastructure projects. |
| Cooperation
in trade and investment to be discussed between Myanmar
and China |

A delegation comprising over 70 businessmen of Yunnan Province
of the People's Republic of China will arrive in Yangon during
the last week of March 2007. They will discuss with Myanmar
businessmen on timber, bamboo, furniture, rubber, hydel power,
construction, mining, transport, agriculture, textile, electronic,
livestock breeding and machinery sectors. |
