U Thadoe Hein is the Founder and Chairman of Myanma Awba Group, the leading group of companies in Myanmar with focus on agriculture.

Myanma Awba Group serves three and a half million farming families (out of seven million in the country) with agricultural inputs, finance and extension services. Core products and services include fertilizers, crop protection chemicals, hybrid and OP seeds, agricultural finance and micro loans, mobile based payments system and mobile based farm advisory services. Started as a trading company in 1995, the group has grown exponentially with investments in the first privately-owned fertilizer plant, chemical formulation plants, seed production facilities and R&D facilities. With over 1,000 agronomists, the group has the largest agronomist team in ASEAN. The group seeks to increase agricultural output of farmers, lower their costs and increase efficiency. The primary objective is to boost grower incomes and alleviate rural poverty. Every year, Myanma Awba sets aside a large percentage of net profit for Shared Value initiatives, including the building of rural infrastructure and public utilities.

U  Thadoe Hein is currently the Chairman of the Myanmar Fertilizer, Seeds and Agrochemical Entrepreneur Association (for a second term) and serves as Joint Secretary General of the Union of Myanmar Chamber of Commerce and Industry. U Thadoe Hein holds a BSc from the University of Yangon and an Executive MBA from the Yangon Institute of Economics. He recently completed Global Executive MBA from UCLA-NUS program. He lives in Yangon with his wife, Daw Soe Mar Lar, and three sons.
